Mar 15, 2016 · I am looking for a equivalent To the German steel grade ST52-3. I came up with ASTM A572GR50. My local supplier will not confirm that this is a equal substitute. Does anyone here have any experience with this? I do not want to make a mistake with this. I will be making a plate 76" x 56" x 20mm thick. It needs to hold about 5000 lbs with out What is ASTM A572 Gr 50 equivalent material - BBN SteelThere are a lot equivalent standards and materials of ASTM A572 Gr 50 HSLA steel. What is ASTM A572 Gr 50 equivalent material? From comparison in chemical composition and mechanical properties, we can find GB Q345B, EN S355JR, DIN ST52-3 and so on steel materials are ASTM A572 Gr 50 equivalent material. material specification substitution of S355 for A572 grade Nov 23, 2011 · I did compare the two and found the differences as noted above. My question as to rather the chemical composition of the S355 having a Mn content of nearly .25% more than the A572 is still in question. Also the Si,Cu and N values of the S355 are higher than the A572. I am not sure what the Cu,Si,Mn and N composition does to the steel.
